Recogition of prior learning is the process that assesses your competency acquired through various formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine if you meet the requirements for a unit of study.
The RPL process requires applicants demonstrate that they have already have acquired this knowledge through previous training, work experience, etc.
How do you qualify for RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) recognises previous training (both formal and informal) as well as workplace experience. If you are interested in applying for RPL you should haveย previousย experience in Cosmetic Tattooing performing eyebrowย treatments.
You will first need to undertake aย pre-screening assessmentย process to determine your eligibility. During this process we ask a series of questions and request evidence that showcases your relevant industry experience.
Successful applicants will need to gather evidence that demonstrates they have the required knowledge and practical evidence*.
*Refer to the Assessment Requirements section for an outline of the required evidence. It is important that applicants read through the assessment requirements before applying for the pre-screening assessment.ย
Assessment Requirements?

โข Photo submissions
โข Document submissions
โข Written responses
โข Self-reflection checklists

Assessment items are required to follow the 4 principles of assessment:

Pre-Screening Assessment
Those who are interested in undertaking the RPL pathway will need to first complete a pre-screening assessment. There areย 3 possible outcomesย from this pre-screening assessment:
- You are a successful candidate for RPL and get through the course submitting all the required evidence.
- Your application shows you have potential to be a successful candidate for RPL, however due to some identified gaps in evidence you may require additional training for compliance (at a cost).
- You are not a successful candidate for RPL and we recommend you complete practical training dates.
Following the completion of the Pre-Screening Assessment one of our assessors will contact you regarding the outcome of your application. We will work with you to determine the most appropriate pathway for you moving forward.
